Police Blotter: Alcohol Arrests; Car Burglarized

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Aug. 5-10.

Warrant

Matthew J. Padour, 30, of 1505 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, was arrested Aug. 5 on a Lake County warrant for an aggravated battery charge. He was released on bond pending an Aug. 17 court date.

Alcohol

Juan Carlos Mandujano-Rangel, 32, of 233 Peterson No. 3, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 5. Police said they responded to a complaint of an intoxicated driver leaving the drive-thru at Taco Bell, 1308 N. Milwaukee Ave. Mandujano-Rangel was also cited for DUI over .08, not having a valid drivers license, disorderly conduct and felony possession of a fraudulent ID. He was remanded on $15,000 bond.

Patrick K. Nichols, 52, of 207 W. Park Ave. No. 108, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 8. Police said Nichols was involved in two traffic accidents, the first near Garfield and Austin Avenues, and the second near West Park and Stewart Avenues. He was charged with DUI over .08, felony aggravated DUI, felony aggravated fleeing and eluding, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, reckless driving, two counts of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. He was held for bond court.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

A resident reported Aug. 9 that someone broke into his car on the 1300 block of Lingonberry. Items taken from the vehicle included: a variety of golf clubs valued at $3,000; a brown leather wallet containing ID and credit cards, along with $800 cash; a Motorola "Photon" smartphone with charger and headset; and an iPod.

Traffic

Christopher J. Derohan, 36, of 2801 Nine St., Winthrop Harbor, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 9 on the 1000 block of East Park Avenue. He was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 19 court date.

Battery

Raul V. Huerta, 25, of 708 Court of Birch 6, Vernon Hills, was charged with battery Aug. 10. Police were called to Tommy's Pizza and Sports Bar at 147 Lake St. due to a fight. Huerta was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 12 court date.
