Police Blotter: Alcohol, Drug and Theft Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests from May 30 to June 2.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

William D. Hansson, 36, of 2175 Irene Lane, Green Oaks, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 31 on the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and speeding. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 14 court date.

Drugs

Two individuals were charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver May 30 near Milwaukee Avenue and Route 176. Arrested were: Qwonshae D. Garrett, 32, of 1352 Washington Ave. No. 2, Racine, WI; and Jesus Maderso-Gavalan, 56, of 800 College Ave., Racine, WI. Police said an officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle when the men flagged down the officer to ask for directions. A search of the vehicle revealed about 85 grams of cannabis, police said. Garrett was cited for obstructing identification, and he was wanted on a Wisconsin warrant for parole violation on a sex offense. Garrett was remanded on $50,000 bond, while Maderso-Gavalan was remanded on $10,000 bond. 

Two individuals were charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia May 31 during a traffic stop near Stewart Avenue and Rockland Road. Arrested were: Alfredo E. Alfaro, Jr., 29, of 545 Gillings Drive No. 5, Gurnee; and Minah D. Ganjani, 21, of 150 E. Crescent Knoll, Green Oaks. Alfaro, Jr., was also cited for driving while license suspended. Both were released on $1,500 personal recognizance bonds pending a June 10 court date. 

Theft

Charles D. Patton, 18, of 4150 Continental Drive, Waukegan, was charged with theft June 2 at Brightstar, 1950 USG Drive. Police said he allegedly stole a cell phone valued at $370. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 12 court date.

Traffic

Rimas S. Milunas, 29, of 1138 Loyola Drive, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol June 1 on Butterfield Road just north of Route 176. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and improper lane usage. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a June 14 court date.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Kyle M. Tremmel, 23, of 729 McKinley Ave., Mundelein, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon June 1 at Tommy's Pizza, 137 Lake St. Police were called to the scene on a report of a man with a knife. He was also cited for disorderly conduct, resisting a peace officer and two counts of aggravated assault. He was transferred to the Lake County Jail.
