Police Blotter: Alcohol, Drug Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests from Dec. 31 through Jan. 6.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Rolando A. Carrera, 57, of 5542 W. Byron, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Jan. 1 near Milwaukee Avenue and Route 137. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 15 court date.

A 17-year-old girl was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor Jan. 1 following a traffic stop near Milwaukee and Park Avenues. She was also cited for violating curfew, avoidance of a traffic control device and not having a valid drivers license. She was released to her father on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 13 court date. The passenger in the vehicle, Alexander R. Kutches, 21, of 1048 Lake St., Libertyville, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted possession of a controlled substance. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 11 court date.

Troy M. Kozie, 18, of 4230 Forest Glen Drive, Hoffman Estates, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcoholic liquor Jan. 5 on the 1800 block of north U.S. Highway 45. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a fraudulent ID card. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 15 court date.

Battery

Frank J. Higgins, 21, of 16392 Arlington Drive, Libertyville, was charged with battery Jan. 6 following an altercation at Taco Bell, 1308 N. Milwaukee Ave. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 16 court date.

Drugs

Calvin R. McMullen, 22, of 139 N. Butterfield Road, Libertyville, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis Dec. 31 near Route 21 and Cater Lane. He was also cited for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 10 court date.

Paul A. Price, 19, of 224 Banbury Lane, Grayslake, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis Jan. 4 on Lake Street. He was also cited for speeding. He was released on a $120 cash bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

Traffic

Hugo I. Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 22, of 6028 59th Ave., Kenosha, WI, was charged with driving while license revoked Jan. 4 on Milwaukee Avenue near Cook Street. He was also cited for not having valid vehicle registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 13 court date.
