Police Blotter: Alcohol, Retail Theft and Warrant Arrests

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Nov. 10-17.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Sean C. Leavey, 29, of 1714 Memphis St. No. 312, Philadelphia, PA, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 14 near Townline Road and Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for speeding and BAC over .08. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending a Dec. 18 court date.

Charles F. Buell, 52, of 1252 Streamwood, Vernon Hills, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 15 near Townline Road and Deerpath Drive. He was also cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC over .08 and having a suspended drivers license. He was also wanted on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear. He was remanded on $25,000 bond pending a Nov. 22 court date.

Rene Gonzalez-Martinez, 26, of 573 Milwaukee Ave. No. 37, Lincolnshire, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 17 near Butterfield and Allanson Roads. He was also cited for BAC over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to yield, resisting, improper lane usage and not having insurance. He was released on $300 cash bond pending a Dec. 18 court date.

Obstructing

Myra A. Arteaga, 24, of 523 S. Lake St., Mundelein, was charged with obstructing Nov. 12 at Fairway Drive and Townline Road. Police said she gave a false name when she completed a crash report in September 2013. She was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond pending a Dec. 20 court date.

Possession of Cannabis

Curtis L. Spencer, 22, of 1910 Wright Ave., North Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis Nov. 10 at Kay Jewelers, 523 Hawthorn Center. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a notice to appear in court Dec. 12.

Retail Theft

Raven A. Osborne, 28, of 1400 S. Michigan Ave. No. 402, Chicago, was charged with retail theft Nov. 16 at Delia's, 816 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for $144 worth of clothing. She was taken to a bond hearing.

Warrant

Keith D. Duncan-Miles, 23, of 2103 20th St., North Chicago, was arrested on a Lake County warrant for battery Nov. 10 at Kay Jewelers, 523 Hawthorn Center. He was turned over to the Lake County Jail.
