Police Blotter: Alcohol, Theft Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.

Theft Over $500

A resident reported Aug. 28 that his bicycle was stolen from the Metra station. The bike, a $600 gray Trek 8.2 DS 19-inch 12 with a Fender SKS attachment, had been locked up with a cable combination lock.

Sebastian Sanchez, 34, of 14982 W. Walnut St., Deerfield, was charged with theft over $500, a class 3 felony, Aug. 30 on the 300 block of Ames Street. Police said a resident saw a vehicle occupied by a man and woman pull up to a landscape trailer and take a leaf blower. Sanchez was also charged with theft enhanced, a class 4 felony. He was transported to the Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing. The woman in the car, Katherine R. Pohlmeier, 29, of the same address as Sanchez, was charged with misdemeanor theft and released on a personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 20 court date.

Theft

Beatriz Demma, 51, of 2337 North Lenox Court, Round Lake Beach, was charged with theft Aug. 29 after she was seen being in possession of a purse belonging to another patron while at a hair salon on Peterson Road. She was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 19 court date.

Traffic

Ivan Garcia-Aceves, 28, of 4237 Greenleaf Court, Park City, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 31 near Church Street and Brainerd Avenue. He was also cited for disregarding a traffic control device. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 10 court date.

Saul Solano, 27, of 337 Maple St., Mundelein, was charged with driving while license suspended Sept. 1 near Route 176 and Blueberry Street. He was also cited for driving while registration suspended and improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 10 court date.

Alcohol

Frederick J. Sanchez, 22, of 33627 N. Fairfield Road, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 31 near North Milwaukee Avenue and Peterson Road. He was also cited for DUI over .08, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and his drivers license pending an Oct. 5 court date.

Gerardo Ibarra, 23, of 280 N. Archer No. 1F, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 1 near Butterfield and Golf Roads. He was also cited for DUI over .08, not having a valid drivers license, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 12 court date.

Heriberto Ibarra, 20, of 290 S. Shadow No. 42, Mundelein, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor Sept. 1 near Butterfield Road and Huntington. He was also cited for possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol, not having a valid drivers license, improper lane usage and zero tolerance DUI. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 10 court date.

Gregory B. Hogerty, 49, of 168 Pond Ridge Road, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 1 near West Park Avenue and Dymond Road. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and improper lane usage. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Oct. 5 court date.
