Police Blotter: Battery Arrests; Vehicle Stolen From Dealership

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from June 18-22.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.


Battery

John A. Hebert, 46, of 73 Fieldstone, Lake Villa, was charged with battery June 20 after police said he was seen pushing and punching another patron at a restaurant on the 600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Police said Hebert was upset because the other customer had taken his seat after he had gone to the restroom. Hebert was also cited for disorderly conduct. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a July 17 court date.

Brogan L. Simms, 22, of 216 Pelican, Louisville, IL, was charged with battery June 22 at the Civic Center, 135 W. Church St. Police said Simms attacked a catering employee who he believed was flirting with his girlfriend. Police noted that the victim sustained injuries to the right side of his face and a laceration on the back of his head. Simms was released on a $120 cash bond pending a July 10 court date.

Motor Vehicle Theft

A 2011 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from Napleton Ford, 1010 S. Milwaukee Ave., sometime between June 17 and 19. The vehicle was valued at $20,000.

Traffic

Juan Ramon Rodas Chavez, 46, of 900 Pioneer Unit 3B, Waukegan, was charged with not having a valid drivers license June 18 on Milwaukee Avenue near Butterfield Road. He was also cited for failure to display registration. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 10 court date.

Jose L. Jaquez, 23, of 4116 Greenleaf Court, Park City, was charged with driving while license revoked June 20 on North Milwaukee Avenue near Adler Drive. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 17 court date.

Warrants

Michael A. Pearson, 27, of 6746 100th Place Unit FF6, Pleasant Prairie, WI, was arrested June 20 on Lake and Cook County warrants for Domestic Battery. After going to bond court for Lake County, he was transported to the Cook County Jail.
