Police Blotter: Car Damaged in Parking Lot; Alcohol Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Oct. 30 - Nov. 4.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Daina A. Bowser, 44, of 2300 Haverton Drive, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 30 near Winchester Road and Route 45. Police said she rear-ended a vehicle, left the immediate area and was stopped a short distance away. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and DUI over .08. She was released on her drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 30 court date.

Two 20-year-olds were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor Nov. 1 at Downing's Bar, 431 S. Milwaukee Ave. Arrested were: Vontrae Q. Tucker-Shead of 111 N. McAree Road, Waukegan; and Justin M. Quist of 726 Paradise Lane, Libertyville. Both were released on separate $1,500 personal recognizance bonds pending a Nov. 13 court date.

Omar Maravillas-Vargas, 28, of 820 Perry No. 1, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 4 on Lake Street just west of Milwaukee Avenue. Police said he was seen walking in a stumbling manner on Lake Street and then was seen exiting the parking garage in his vehicle. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and not having a valid drivers license. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 14 court date.

Traffic

Melgar V. Palma, 19, of 77 West Strong, Wheeling, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 30 near Milwaukee Avenue and Rockland Road. He was also cited for not having a registration light. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Andrew James Bryan, 21, of 311 Sommerset Drive, Grayslake, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 3 on the 1300 block of South Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for not having a front registration plate displayed. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Renee Rodriguez, 34, of 24449 West Oak St., Round Lake, was charged with driving while license revoked Nov. 3 on Peterson Road just east of Butterfield Road. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Jeanette H. Salgado, 29, of 615 N. First St., Libertyville, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 4 on Golf Road just east of Milwaukee Avenue. She was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A vehicle parked at Downing's Bar, 431 S. Milwaukee Ave., was found damaged at about 1:10 a.m. Nov. 4. The back window had been shattered and the hatch was dented.

Theft

A resident on the 500 block of South Dymond Road reported Oct. 31 that someone stole a police scanner from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. The scanner was valued at $100.
