Police Blotter: Debit Card Stolen from Car, Battery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Debit Card Stolen from Vehicle

A patron at X-Sport Fitness, 1163 S. Milwaukee Ave., told police that her front passenger-side window was shattered and her purse was removed from the passenger-side floorboard on Jan. 24. The purse contained a brown leather wallet, a TCF bank debit card, a checkbook, $30 cash and a silver Motorola Blur cellphone. After the theft, the debit card was used fraudulently before the account was frozen. Police are investigating the case.

Police responded to a report of disturbance at Tacos El Norte Restaurant, 1500 S. Milwaukee Ave., on Jan. 22. Police learned a fight broke out inside the restaurant involving a cellphone. Two people were treated and released by Libertyville paramedics for injuries sustained in the fight.

With the assistance of a Vernon Hills officer, a vehicle leaving the restaurant was stopped at a nearby parking lot with two of the offenders inside.

Omar F. Jimenez, 26, 583 Dunham Road, Gurnee, was charged Jan. 22 with battery, battery to police officer, resisting a peace officer, possession of cannabis more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held for bond court the next morning, where he was remanded on a $5,000 bond.

His brother, Raul M. Jimenez, 27, 308 McKool Ave., Romeoville, was charged with battery and possession of cannabis more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 22 court date in Waukegan.

Vehicle Damaged in Parking Lot

The rear window of a blue Dodge van parked in parking lot A at Advocate Condell Hospital, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave., was found broken on Jan. 23. The glass was spider-webbed and it is not known what caused the damage. The interior of the vehicle was not disturbed. No damage estimate was provided.

Driving Violations

Dawn M. Werley, 21, 1941 Cedarbrook, Green Oaks, was charged Jan. 28 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content level greater than .08, and improper lane use. She later was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 2 court date in Waukegan.

Rafael Cruz, 21, 4426 McClure Ave., Gurnee, was charged Jan. 24 with driving while license revoked and improper lane use. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 14 court date in Mundelein.

Andru J. Gonzalez, 17, 811 Walnut St., Mundelein, was charged Jan. 26 with driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 8 court date in Mundelein.

Denisha S. Hollongsworth Hudson, 23, 1509 Lorelei Drive, Apt. 101, Zion, was charged Jan. 27 with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She later was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 14 court date in Mundelein.

Ricardo Cabrera, 19, 715 Court of Spruce, Apt. 2, Vernon Hills, was charged Jan. 27 with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He later was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 14 court date in Mundelein.
