Police Blotter: DUI, Battery, Traffic Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests from March 31-April 5.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Jonathan Quinones, 23, of 1111 N. Route 21 No. 2, Gurnee, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol March 31 on Milwaukee Avenue between Brookhill Drive and Janas Court. He was also cited for DUI over .08, speeding and improper lane usage. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 17 court date.

James F. Cooney, 41, of 31340 N. Liberty Road, Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol April 2 on Rockland Road just east of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for speeding and having illegal tinted registration plate covers. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 10 court date.

Battery

John C. Sell, 46, of 617 W. Park Ave. Unit C, Libertyville, was charged with battery April 4 on the 600 block of West Park Avenue. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 15 court date.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Corey J. Hodgen, 22, of 717 Jenkisson, Lake Bluff, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia April 5 on Route 176 near St. Mary's Road. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 8 court date.

Traffic

Oscar Valenzuela, 30, of 314 Russet Way, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving while license revoked April 2 on Butterfield Road near Willow Road. He was also cited for possession of cannabis and speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an April 12 court date.

Mayra Alejandra Flores Maldonado, 23, of 507 S. Mcalister, Waukegan, was charged with not having a valid drivers license April 5 on Route 45 near USG Drive. She was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 8 court date.

Warrant

Kate M. Kolodzik, 28, of 625 Rose Ave., Des Plaines, was arrested on a Cook County warrant April 1 after police said she was dropped off at Walgreens, 1470 S. Milwaukee Ave., by a cab driver for failure to pay cab fare. The warrant was for driving with a suspended drivers license. She was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
