Police Blotter: Endangering the Life of a Child, Retail Theft Arrests

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Dec. 6-14.

Alcohol

Deidre E. Towster, 41, of 613 Kinnear, Inverness, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Dec. 6 near Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road. She was also cited for BAC over .08, improper lane usage, improper use of turn lane, disobeying a red light, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to signal and drivers license not on person. She was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending a Jan. 8 court date. 

Battery

Benjamin Barranon-Dominguez, 25, of 245 E. Court of Shorewood No. 9, Vernon Hills, was charged with two counts of battery Dec. 10 on the 700 block of Westmoreland. He was also cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting a police officer. He was released on $300 cash bond pending a Jan. 8 court date.

Drugs

A 14-year-old boy was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia Dec. 9 at Vernon Hills High School, 145 S. Lakeview Pkwy. He was released on a notice to appear in court Jan. 9.

Endangering the Life of a Child

A man and woman were charged with endangering the life of a child Dec. 13 at Wendy's, 210 E. Townline Road, after police said they left their son in their vehicle while they worked. Arrested were: Everardo Castillo-Cruz, 41, and Guadalupe Hernandez, 30, both of 621 Allanson Road, Mundelein. They were each released on $150 cash bond pending a Dec. 20 court date.

Retail Theft

Ana B. Vallecillo, 27, of 153 Washington Park, Waukegan, was charged with retail theft Dec. 7 at Macy's, 1 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for $17.99 worth of clothing. She was released on a notice to appear pending a court date.

A man and a woman were charged with retail theft Dec. 12 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center, after police said they left the store without paying for nearly $709 worth of clothing and fragrances. Arrested were: Thelma Mendez, 41, and Moises Polito-Ambros, 40, both of 55 S. Shaddle Ave. No. 203, Mundelein. Each was released on $5,000 bond pending a court date.

Two women were arrested for retail theft Dec. 12 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center, after police said they left the store without paying for $73 worth of accessories and fragrances. Arrested were: Alexa N. Moreno, 20, of 2605 N. Pine St., Waukegan, and Alexandra B. Dever, 21, of 37154 N. Delany Road, Waukegan. Both were released on a notice to appear in court Jan. 9.

Marco Tulio Arana, Jr., 44, of 102 Mayer Ave., Wheeling, was charged with retail theft Dec. 14 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said he left the store without paying for $27 worth of clothing. He was released on $150 cash bond pending a Jan. 6 court date.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with retail theft Dec. 14 at JC Penney, 4 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for a $20 baseball cap. He was released on a notice to appear in court Jan. 9. 

A 17-year-old girl was charged with retail theft Dec. 14 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said she left the store without paying for jewelry and clothing. She was released on a notice to appear in court Jan. 9.

Theft

Alexander Salazar, 19, of 517 Morningside Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with theft Dec. 13 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for $299 worth of electronics. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $150 cash bond pending a Jan. 3 court date.
