Police Blotter: Garage, Nine Vehicles Burglarized

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from July 2-8.

Residential, Vehicle Burglary

Residents reported July 2 that four vehicles and a garage were burglarized over the previous weekend in the Greentree area on Tamarack Lane, Catalpa Court, and Tracy and Weeping Willow Lanes. Stolen from the unlocked vehicles were a Movado watch valued at $800, a cell phone charger, a backpack with children's snacks and a pair of sunglasses. Stolen from the open garage were two sets of Callaway golf clubs and bags valued at $4,000.

Homeowners reported July 8 that someone burglarized their vehicles on Fairlawn Avenue, Nordic Court and Dawes Street. Items stolen from the five unlocked vehicles included a cell phone, sunglasses and cell phone accessories valued at $60, along with two gas credit cards and $20 in cash.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts

A Libertyville Mitsubishi employee reported that sometime between June 28 and July 2, someone stole the headlights and the headlight assembly from a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT. The parts were valued at $1,600.

Alcohol

G. Alexander McDonald, 21, of 549 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, was charged with providing alcohol to a minor July 7 on the 500 block of West Park Avenue. Police said they responded to a noise complaint at the apartment. Meghan H. Link, 20, of 1109 Loyola Drive, Libertyville, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Both McDonald and Link were released on $120 cash bonds pending an Aug. 8 court date.

Traffic

Marilyn A. Perry, 19, of 4039 Thresher St., Great Lakes, was charged with not having a valid drivers license July 2 on the 1300 block of South Milwaukee Avenue. She was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and improper use of headlights. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 8 court date.

Roman Komlev, 27, of 499 Grosse Pointe Circle, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving while license suspended July 3 near Hollister Drive and Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for failure to display a registration plate. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a July 27 court date.

Karina Alvarez-Ruiz, 38, of 1425 N. Cleaver St. 1R, Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended July 6 on the 700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. She was also cited for speeding and having expired registration. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 8 court date.

Criminal Damage to Property

An individual reported July 3 that someone damaged the utility shed at the Dymond Road soccer fields. Police said graffiti, created with purple spray paint, was found on the right side and back of the shed.

An individual reported July 3 that someone spray painted a gang name on the windowsill of a building on the 600 block of West Park Avenue.
