Police Blotter: Golf Course Damaged; Vehicle Burglarized

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from July 29 through Aug. 4.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Jose S. Escobedo, 22, of 622 S. Milwaukee Ave. Unit B, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol July 31 on Milwaukee Avenue near Condell Drive. He was also cited for DUI over .08, transportation of open alcohol and speeding. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 30 court date.

Two individuals were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor Aug. 3. Police said they stopped the two individuals, who appeared to be juveniles, as they were walking in the parking lot of the BP gas station at Milwaukee and Park Avenues. The individuals arrested were: Lamont R. Montgomere, 19, of 765 Court of Spruce, Vernon Hills, and Orlando Favors, Jr., 20, of 160 W. Lincoln, Libertyville. Both were released on $120 personal recognizance bonds pending a Sept. 11 court date.

Jeremy A. Fromm, 24, of 255 Glen Unit 2D, Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 4. He was also cited for DUI over .08 and driving without headlights when required. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 23 court date.

Burglary to Vehicle

A resident reported Aug. 1 that a number of items were taken from her vehicle while it was parked at Hilltop Executive Center, 1580 S. Milwaukee Ave. Items taken through an open window included medical records, a carton of cigarettes and three recently-filled prescriptions. Police are investigating.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police were called to the Libertyville Sports Complex at 11:30 p.m. July 29 on a report of damage to the golf greens. Police found multiple divots on the greens after an employee chased away three individuals, who entered a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer. Police are investigating.

Traffic

Cecilia Beatriz Ramirez-Campos, 17, of 2616 W. Cornelia, Floor A, Waukegan, was charged with not having a valid drivers license July 31 on North Milwaukee Avenue near Hurlburt Court. She was also cited for making an improper turn and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 14 court date.

Luis Perez, 48, of 208 Shadydell, Mundelein, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Aug. 2 on the 600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Police responded to a call about a four-car accident. Perez was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 11 court date.

Joshua P. Becker, 27, of 1311 N. Red Oak Circle, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 2 near Lake Minear. He was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 21 court date.

Isidro J. Morales-Ortiz, 27, of 123 Pigeon, Waukegan, was charged with driving while license suspended Aug. 3 near Peterson Road and Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a Sept. 11 court date.
