Police Blotter: Items Stolen from Lockers; Battery Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports recent arrests and crimes.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Battery

Patrick R. Tayfel, 32, of 1480 Anderson Drive, Libertyville, was charged with battery Dec. 14 on the 500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue following an altercation. He was released on $120 cash bond pending a Jan. 9 court date.

Lester O. Reyes, 41, of 2924 Bonnie Brook, Waukegan, was charged with battery Dec. 14 at Austin's Saloon & Eatery, 481 Peterson Road. He was also cited for criminal trespass to land. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 14 court date.

Joshua J. Wright, 28, of 517 Wrightwood Terrace, Libertyville, was charged with battery Dec. 16 at Downing's Bar, 431 S. Milwaukee Ave. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 13 court date.

Burglary

A Promate 3,000-watt generator, a power washer and a steel chain with a lock were stolen from a storage shed at Austin's Saloon & Eatery, 481 Peterson Road. The items were valued at $700.

Theft

Two patrons at XSport Fitness, 1163 S. Milwaukee Ave., reported that their lockers were broken into. One of the men said only his combination lock was missing, while another man said his wallet had been taken. The wallet contained his drivers license, cash, a debit card and credit cards.
