Police Blotter: Possession of a Firearm While FOID Card Revoked, Alcohol Arrests

Traffic

Sergio Martinez, 51, of 414 Whitter Lane, Mundelein, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Oct. 8 near Winchester and Harris Roads. He was also cited for speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Viviana Ocampo-Arroyo, 34, of 811 Walnut St. Unit 1B, Mundelein, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 11 on the 500 block of North Butterfield Road. She was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Usiel A. Ortiz Landa, 19, of 1536 Crimson Lane Unit 2A, Palatine, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Oct. 12 near Milwaukee Avenue and Route 176. He was also cited for making an improper turn at an intersection. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date. The passenger in the car - Shannon M. Cobb, 18, of 1213 Patrick Drive, Mundelein - was charged with illegal possession of cannabis and three counts of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on $120 cash bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Juan Arizmendi, 24, of 2308 Jethro Ave., Zion, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Oct. 12 near Route 176 and Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Antania P. Loza, 26, of 709 W. Park Ave. No. 210, Libertyville, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Oct. 12 near Oak Spring Road and Appley Avenue. She was also cited for speeding. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Timothy T. McHugh, 51, of 581 N. Eagle Drive, Montgomery, IN, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 14 on the 700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.

Possessing a Firearm Without a FOID Card

Patrick K. Nichols, 52, of 207 W. Park Ave. No. 108, Libertyville, was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while FOID card revoked, a Class 3 felony, Oct. 9 at Downing's Bar, 431 S. Milwaukee Ave. Police said a patron noticed that Nichols was wearing the weapon in a holster while seated at the bar. Police said a second handgun with three loaded magazines was found inside Nichols' car. He was also cited for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon, both Class 4 felonies. After an Oct. 10 hearing, Nichols was remanded to the Lake County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Alcohol

John T. Kovach, 47, of 402 Winnock, Peachtree City, GA, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 11 near Rockland Road and Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for DUI over. 08, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 2 court date.

Jose M. Pedroza, 20, of 101 Model Court, Round Lake Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 12 near Peterson Road and Route 137. He was also cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 23 court date.

Lacey D. Tatum, 25, of 614 Allanson Road, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 14 near Milwaukee and Park Avenues. She was also cited for DUI over .08, speeding and disregarding a traffic control device. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 2 court date. A passenger in the vehicle - Yan Gusinsky, 27, of 8521 N. Lotus Ave., Skokie - was charged with possession of cannabis. He was released on $120 cash bond pending a Nov. 14 court date.
