Police Blotter: Public Indecency; Retail Theft Arrests

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Aug. 6-8.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Denise Christine Heidbreder, 22, of 288 Ahwahnee Lane, Lake Forest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 11 near Plymouth Farms and Butterfield Roads. She was also cited for improper lane usage, BAC over .08, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on her drivers license and a $1,000 recognizance bond pending an Aug. 28 court date.

Michael L. Dash, 25, of 161 Pond Ridge Road, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Aug. 11 after police found him parked in the roadway near Butterfield and Golf Roads. He was also cited for BAC over .08, not having insurance, having a suspended drivers license and improper parking on roadway. He was released on $300 cash pending an Aug. 28 court date.

Drug Paraphernalia

Jesse G. Escobar, 22, of 14 Crestview Lane, Vernon Hills, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Aug. 6 at Babies R Us, 295 Center Drive. He was released on a notice to appear in court Sept. 12.

William T. Laubach, 26, of 140 Tottenham, Elk Grove Village, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Aug. 9 near Milwaukee Avenue and Woodlands Parkway. He was also cited for speeding. He was given a Sept. 12 court date.

Public Indecency

Nathan M. Reed, 33, of 34472 N. Sunshine Lane, Ingleside, was charged with public indecency Aug. 6 in Century Park, 1000 Lakeview Pkwy. He was also cited for child sex offender knowingly in a park. He was remanded on $50,000 bond pending a Sept. 5 court date.

Retail Theft

Natalia Raducan, 27, of 500 Manda Lane No. 407, Wheeling, was charged with retail theft Aug. 7 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Police said she left the store without paying for just under $103 worth of merchandise. She was given a Sept. 12 court date.

Taha M. Anaam, 21, of 354 Creekside Drive, Vernon Hills, was charged with retail theft Aug. 7 at JC Penney, 4 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for a $22 baseball hat. He was given a Sept. 12 court date.

Devin L. Stewart, 20, of 604 Esconaba Ave., Dolton, was charged with retail theft Aug. 8 at Macy's, 1 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for just over $242 worth of clothing. He was also cited for criminal damage to property. He was released on $150 cash bond pending a Sept. 4 court date.

Elena Svet, 28, of 508 Woodhaven Drive, Mundelein, was charged with retail theft Aug. 10 at Walmart, 555 E. Townline Road. Police said she left the store without paying for just over $57 worth of merchandise. She was given a Sept. 12 court date.

Two women were charged with retail theft Aug. 8 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said they left the store without paying for $336 worth of merchandise. Arrested were: Park Mi Ja Ku, 48, of 221 Knightsbridge Drive, Mundelein; and Youn Jin Ku, 19, of 221 Knightsbridge Drive, Mundelein. Both were given a Sept. 12 court date.
