Police Blotter: 6 Vehicles Burglarized at Ellis Apartments

Burglary, Nothing Valuable Appears Missing

Six vehicles were burglarized April 3 at the parking lot of Ellis Apartments, 131 W. Ellis Ave. Police responded to a report of burglary to motor vehicle in progress. When officers arrived, a witness told police the burglar had fled. The offender was described as white male, age 18 to 20, wearing a white or orange shirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat.

The vehicle owners verified that their vehicles had been left unlocked, either intentionally or accidentally. The owners said they did not have anything of value inside their vehicles and nothing appeared damaged or missing.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

David J. Bousson, 31, 315 Dawes St., Libertyville, was arrested April 4 on Rockland Road just east of Steward Avenue on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He later was released on a personal recognizance bond and was issued an April 27 court date in Waukegan.

Patrick F. Scheel, 24, 25659 W. Grant St., Ingleside, was arrested April 5 on Milwaukee Avenue near Route 176 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He later was released on a personal recognizance bond and was issued an April 27 court date in Waukegan.

Myles G. Burton, 21, 1816 Cardinal Court, Libertyville was arrested April 5 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. He later was released after posting his driver’s license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He was issued a May 18 court date in Waukegan.

Driving Incidents

Charles M. Moderwell, 52, 786 Oakwood Ave., Lake Forest, was arrested April 2 on North Milwaukee Avenue on charges of driving while license suspended and speeding. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and was issued a May 9 court date in Mundelein.

Juan J. Vega, 25, 200 Julian St., Waukegan, was arrested April 4 on Route 176, east of St. Mary’s Road, on charges of driving while license suspended and improper lane use. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and was issued an April 25 court date in Mundelein.

Julio Sandoval, 40, 367 Katherine Drive, Hainesville, was arrested April 5 on Route 137 near Butterfield Road on charges of driving on a revoked license and not having rear tail lights. He later was released on a personal recognizance bond and was issued an April 25 court date in Mundelein.
