Police Blotter: Speeding, Stolen Painting, Pizza Fight

Libertyville Patch will post a new police blotter from the Libertyville Police Department every Wednesday.

Stolen Paintings

Police responded to a call that four paintings were stolen from an office located on the 700 block of South Milwaukee Avenue. The receptionist said the paintings were stolen sometime between 5 p.m. Nov. 3 and 8:50 a.m. Nov. 5. The police do not have descriptions or value of the paintings.

On Nov. 4, James Grocki, 23, of the 300 block of West Winchester Road, was taken into custody on a warrant from the Lake County Sheriff's Office for failing to appear in court on a charge of attempted possession of a controlled substance.

Police stopped and cited Trisha Christie, 25, for speeding at about 9:20 p.m. Nov. 6 on Milwaukee Avenue near Condell Drive. Police also found that DuPage County had an active arrest warrant on Christie for failing to appear for traffic offenses. She was released after posting bond on the DuPage County warrant. Christie's court date is set for Dec. 16.

Pizza Fight

Around midnight Nov. 7, police responded to a fight at Tommy's Pizza, 137 Lake St. Bryce Hickey, 23, of the 500 block of Hillcrest Terrace, was arrested and charged with battery. He was released on a $1,000 bond. Hickey's court date is set for Nov. 17.

On Nov. 9, police arrested and charged Michael Lauber, 19, and Daniel Keefe, 19, with three counts of felony criminal damage to property. The pair is accused of breaking windows at two businesses, damaging two vehicles and several mailboxes in the southeast residential area and southern downtown area between the night of Nov. 6 and morning of Nov. 7.
