Police Blotter: Stolen Razors; Traffic Arrests

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Retail Theft

An employee at Walgreens, 1770 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported Nov. 21 that she saw a man take a number of Gillette razors and place them in his backpack. The man was described as being about 40 years old, balding with light-colored short hair, and carrying a khaki and black camouflage-style backpack. He left the store on foot, walking southbound. A total of 25 packages of Gillette razors valued at $549 were taken.

Traffic

Edgardo Garcia, 24, of 950 Cherry Valley, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 21 on Butterfield Road near Victory Drive. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Joseph A. Browne, 22, of 1388 Prairie Trail, Grayslake, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Nov. 24. He was also cited for having suspended vehicle registration. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Matthew Anthony Wroda, 43, of 12915 W. Johns Mansville Ave., Waukegan, was charged with driving while license suspended Nov. 25 near Winchester and Butterfield Roads. Police said he was initially stopped so they could warn him about displaying flashing red and blue Christmas lights on his vehicle. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.
