Police Blotter: Theft at X-Sport, Obstructing Police

The police blotter is compiled from reports provided by the Libertyville Police Department each week. Readers are reminded that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft Over $500

On March 21, a patron of X-Sport Fitness, 1163 S. Milwaukee Ave., reported that his wallet containing cash, several credit cards and identification was taken from a secured locker sometime after 3 p.m.  The combination lock was missing as well.

Police arrested Matthew Padour, 29, of the 1500 block of N. Milwaukee Ave., for obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer, following a disturbance at Tommy’s Pizza and Sports Bar, 137 Lake St.

Police reports say Pardour closed the gate and blocked the path of an officer who was attempting to exit the gated patio area to investigate a group of patrons involved in an argument. The officer reported that Pardour became belligerent and verbally abusive and refused to move out of the way after several request. Padour struggled with officers who were arresting him. He was later released on a cash bond pending a court date of May 25.

Outstanding Warrant Arrest

Police arrested Roberto Vasquez, 29, of Laredo, Texas, on an outstanding warrant from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a charge of possession of cannabis. Officers stopped a vehicle in which Vasquez was a passenger on Milwaukee Ave. near Finstead Ave., following a domestic dispute. After being processed at , he was taken to the Lake County jail.

Driving Mishaps

On March 26, police arrested Aurora resident Brian Kristoffersen, 41, for driving under the influence after police stopped him for improper lane usage in the area of W. Cook St. and Milwaukee Ave. Police charged Kristoffersen for driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over 0.08., and for improper lane usage. He was later released on personal bond. His court date is set for April 15.

Police stopped Eder Alvarez, 19, of the 500 block of Park Ave., for improper lane usage on Milwaukee Avenue and Route 137 on March 21. Police found Alvarez was driving without a valid driver’s license and took him into custody. He was processed and released on a personal bond. His court date is set for April 27.

Police stopped Gurnee resident Lawyer Darfour, 36, for speeding at Milwaukee Ave. and McKinley Ave. Darfour was found to be driving on a suspended license and with an expired registration. Police arrested Darfour and towed his vehicle. He was later released on a personal bond and his court date is set for April 27.
