Police Blotter: Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property; Underage Consumption

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests from Aug. 11-16.

Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property

Ashley E. Telling, 26, of 2212 Shannondale Drive,  Green Oaks, was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property Aug. 11. Police said a customer reported that she left her iPad on a shelf in the self-checkout lane. When she returned to the store to retrieve the iPad, it was gone and nobody had turned it in, police said. Telling was charged with the theft following an investigation, police said. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 23 court date.

Underage Consumption of Alcohol

John R. Luehrsen, 20, of 312 Lincoln, Libertyville, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol Aug. 16. While police were on a routine patrol at Highland Middle School, 310 W. Rockland Road, they found a parked car and questioned the occupants. Luehrsen and a passenger were found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said. Luehrsen was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 16 court date.
