Police Blotter: Tire Slashed, Purse Stolen From Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Tire Slashed Outside Tavern

A patron at a tavern in the 400 block of South Milwaukee Avenue told police that his driver-side front tire was slashed while he was inside the vehicle. The victim says that as he pulled into a parking space on Dec. 26, five or six males in their 20s exited the tavern, approached his vehicle and began yelling profanities. The victim noticed his tires had been slashed after the men left the area. Damage was estimated at $175.

Purse Stolen From Parked Car

A vehicle parked in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue was burglarized Dec. 26. The front passenger window was broken and a black Guess purse, which had been left on the floorboard, was taken. The purse contained a black patent leather wallet with about eight or 10 credit cards, a checkbook, $50 in cash and identification cards. Within a couple of hours of the theft, some of the credit cards were used at stores in Vernon Hills.

A second vehicle parked in the lot of a restaurant in the 1700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue also was broken into Dec. 26. The front passenger window was broken in an attempt to remove what looked like a purse but was only a makeup bag, according to police.

Outside Water Spigot Floods Basement

Homeowners in the 1500 block of Old Barn Circle reported that someone turned on their outside water spigot while they were out of town. Upon their return home, their basement was flooded. On Dec. 24, a neighbor heard the sound of water gushing and went to the home to turn off the outside spigot. Damage was estimated at $4,500.

Three-Car Accident on Peterson Road

A Park City man faces various charges after being involved in a three-car accident. The 31-year-old man’s vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle at the intersection of Peterson and Butterfield roads on Dec. 28, police said.

Gaudencio Guadarrama-Alvarez, 3310 Patricia Lane, Park City, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Two vehicles were stopped on Peterson Road just west of Butterfield Road by the traffic light when Guadarrama-Alvarez’s car struck the rear of a vehicle, which in turn struck the vehicle in front of it. He later was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 13 court date in Waukegan.

Fencing Broken at School Street Condos

Fencing slats surrounding the School Street condos were broken in the afternoon of Dec. 26. Repair estimates were unknown.

Warrant Arrest

­Vontrae Q. Tucker-Shead, 19, 743 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, was arrested Dec. 28 on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear. Unable to raise the $3,000 bond amount for release, Shead was transported to the Lake County Jail, pending a bond hearing.

Driving Incidents

Ivan S. Rodriguez, 20, 1322 N. Turtle Creek, Palatine, was charged Dec. 31 with driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding. He later was released on a $1,500 recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 8 court date in Mundelein.

Phillip A. Christiansen, 21, 280 Glen St., Apt. 2D, Grayslake, was charged Dec. 29 with driving while license suspended and speeding. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 8 court date in Mundelein.
