Tires Slashed at Butterfield School, Winchester Road

Tires Slashed on Winchester Road

The passenger-side tires of an Acura were slashed while the vehicle was parked at 1850 W. Winchester Road. The damage occurred between March 28 and 30. Police are attempting to locate surveillance cameras in the area. No damage estimate was provided.

Police responded to Butterfield School, 1441 Lake St., on a report of criminal damage on April 1. Two vans, one white and one blue with the name “After School Club” on the side, were found with deflated tires, and police found puncture marks on the tires. A portable potty on the property also was found to have been tipped over but was not damaged. The school was closed the previous week for spring break.

Safe Stolen From Home

A resident in the 1600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue reported March 30 that her condominium was burglarized while she was on an extended vacation. A safe, containing documents but no items of value, was stolen. Tool marks were found on the front door and door molding, cabinet door and drawers also were found ajar, but nothing else appeared to be missing. Police are investigating the case.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Sara M. Niedzwiecki, 24, 709 W. Park Ave., Apt. 103, Libertyville, was charged March 31 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and not having rear a registration plate light. She later was released after posting her driver’s license, a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and was issued an April 27 court date in Waukegan.

Driving Incidents

Jesus H. Cruz, 56, 38335 N. Sheridan Road, Lot 19, Beach Park, was charged March 30 with driving while license suspended and speeding. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and was issued a May 9 court date in Mundelein.
