Police Blotter: Traffic Arrests

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Edgar Fermin Diaz Garcia, 29, of 1112 Jackson, North Chicago, was charged with not having a valid drivers license March 26 near Route 137 and Des Plaines Drive. He was also cited for improper turn signal and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 8 court date.

Alfonso Ramirez-Garcia, 36, of 315 S. Chanel Drive, Round Lake, was charged with not having a valid drivers license March 26 on the 1200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. He was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 15 court date.

Dora A. Zelaya-Gomez, 33, of 4204 Hickory Hill Drive No. 308, Waukegan, was charged with driving while license suspended March 27 on the 100 block of Lake Street. She was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 15 court date.

Victor Gerardo Cruz Cervantes, 25, of 1721 Golf Road No. 206, Waukegan, was charged with driving while license suspended March 27 near Route 137 and Des Plaines Drive. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 8 court date.

Josue R. Paz-Pacheco, 30, of 3130 W. Grandville No. 311, Waukegan, was charged with driving while license suspended March 28 on Milwaukee Avenue near Route 176. He was also cited for speeding. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 15 court date.

Two people were charged with driving while license suspended March 29 on Route 176 just west of St. Mary's Road. The drivers of both vehicles had been seen driving outside of their proper lanes of traffic, police said. Arrested were: Vance Kelly, 59, of 350 Brainerd Ave., Libertyville; and Joewaun C. Scott, 35, of 3011 S. Farrell, Chicago. Kelly was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 8 court date. Scott was also cited for improper lane usage, unlawful possession of cannabis and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a May 1 court date.
