Police Blotter: Vehicles Burglarized; Alcohol Arrests

The Libertyville Police Department reports arrests and crimes from Jan. 15-20.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Daniel Mosconi, 51, of 745 Benson Lane, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Jan. 16 near Route 176 and Ashbury Lane. He was also cited for DUI over .08, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 8 court date.

Prajwal T. Shetty, 28, of 381 South Litchfield Drive, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Jan. 19 on West Park Avenue near Butterfield Road. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on his drivers license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 22 court date.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

A purse was stolen from the front seat of a vehicle parked at Adler School Jan. 15. Police said the theft took place around 8 p.m., when a parent went inside the school to pick up her child. The vehicle was locked, and access was gained by smashing the window. The LexiWynn leather-and-fabric purse was valued at $200. It contained a black and white Coach wallet valued at $150, prescription sunglasses, various credit cards, a checkbook and a drivers license.

Three vehicles parked in a lot on the 700 block of East Park Avenue had windows broken and purses stolen from inside the vehicles sometime between 4:15 and 6:45 p.m. Jan. 19. Some of the stolen items included: a gray leather shoulder-strap Coach purse with gold accents; a black leather wallet with silver accents; a black Nine West tri-fold wallet; and a Dave Ramsey brown and light blue wallet. Police are investigating.

Criminal Damage to Property

Jeffrey R. Grzonka, 34, of 113 Bay Road, Fox Lake, was charged with criminal damage to property Jan. 19. Police said a witness reported seeing Grzonka punch a window inside the train station, damaging the frame. He was released on $120 cash bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jordan C. Watkins, 19, of 14812 W. Imperial Drive, Libertyville, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia Jan. 20 near Blueberry and Pond Ridge Roads. He was released on a $120 cash bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.
