Police Blotter: Warrant Arrests, Theft to Unlocked Cars

Warrant Arrests

Police arrested Indian Creek resident Yan Gusinsky, 25, on two outstanding Lake County warrants after he was identified at XSport Fitness. Gusinsky was arrested after he fled Xsport and ran into a local car dealership at about 10:30am on Jan. 10. Gusinsky was unable to post $10,000, 10 percent bond for the warrants and was transported to Lake County Jail.

An acquaintance of Gusinsky, Omar Edwards, 26, of Hoffman Estate, was charged with obstructing a police officer. After processing, he was released on a personal bond.

 On Jan. 10, police stopped Wisconsin resident Dane Brown, 29, for driving without headlights. A records check revealed that Brown was wanted on a DuPage County for failure to appear. He was released after posting bond and fees. Brown’s court date is set for Feb. 10.

Police stopped and questioned Michael Desko, 43, of the 130 block of East Sunnyside Ave., when he was seen walking through car dealership lots on South Milwaukee Avenue on Jan. 11. Police found that Desko was wanted on a Lake County warrant for contempt of court and was taken into custody. He was later transported to the Lake County jail.

Theft to Unlocked Cars

A resident in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue reported that sometime between 9pm the previous night and 10:30am the next morning, someone entered her unlocked car that was parked in the driveway. The contents of the glove compartment and the center console were rifled through, but nothing was taken.

Another resident in the 200 block of Johnson Avenue also reported that sometime between 10:30pm the previous night and 8:30am, someone took $15 from his unlocked car that was parked in the driveway.
