Police Blotter: Woman Injures Boyfriend, Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Steven W. Garrett, 41, 131 Newberry Ave., Apt. 2 S, Libertyville, was charged Jan. 9 with theft of less than $300. While Garrett’s roommate was banking online, she noticed a withdrawal she did not recognize. Police say Garrett used his roommate’s debit card without receiving her permission. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 24 court date in Waukegan.

Residential Burglary

Thieves broke into a home in the 1400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue on Jan. 11. Several pieces of jewelry, several bottles of perfume and about $180 in cash were taken. No forced entry was found and entry may have been gained through a patio door that possibly had been left unlocked.

Battery, Resisting a Peace Officer

Francisco J. Garcia, 21, 711 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, was charged Jan. 15 with two counts of battery and resisting a peace officer. Police were called to a residence in the 700 block of South Milwaukee Avenue on a domestic disturbance report. The incident started as a verbal dispute between two friends but escalated. Family members then requested police help in removing Garcia from the home. Garcia was arrested and later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 15 court date in Waukegan.

Woman Injures Boyfriend

Blanca S. Ramirez, 29, 201 E. Cook St., Apt. 402, Libertyville, was charged Jan. 15 with domestic battery. Police responded to an apartment at 201 E. Cook Street on a loud noise complaint. Upon arrival, they met a victim with injuries to his head and neck, who said he had been in a fight with his girlfriend Ramirez. The victim refused medical treatment. Ramirez was held overnight for a bond hearing the next morning. She later was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.

Driving Incidents

Kyle P. Buss, 22, 298 Hanlon Road, Libertyville, was charged Jan. 12 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He later was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 12 court date in Waukegan.

Betzabel Cristina Hernandez-Cuevas, 28, 4121 Greenleaf Court, Park City, was charged Jan. 10 with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She later was released after posting a $200 cash bond and given a Feb. 8 court date in Mundelein.
