A Libertyville man was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for the incident that blocked traffic on Route 176 on Sept. 30. The district closed pools Oct. 1 at and Vernon Hills high schools after it failed to get an extension to meet a pool compliance mandate.

Congressional candidate raised more than $140,000 from over 4,800 donors for the quarter ending Sept. 30 in his pursuit of the Democratic nomination in the March 20 primary to oppose in the November, 2012 general election. 

John and Nancy Adams, whose home garden has attracted compliments and photographers more than 10 years, offer tips to home gardeners to prepare the garden for the fall.

The village spent some $100,000 on the project, which started in May.
