Woman Arrested for Speeding, Wanted for Deportation

The Waukegan resident was later turned over to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

A Waukegan resident who was stopped for speeding was arrested by Libertyville Police and later turned over to an agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcements for failure to appear for deportation.

Yeni Silva, 26, was stopped on Milwaukee Avenue near Maple Avenue on April 22. Police cited Silva for driving without a valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and for speeding. In addition, a records check revealed she was wanted on a warrant from Immigration and Customs Enforcements.

She was taken into custody and her vehicle was towed. After processing, she was released from Libertyville Police on a $2,000 bond, but was then turned over to an agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcements.
