11 Noontime Truck Delivery Citations Issued in August

Libertyville prohibits deliveries to downtown businesses in the west parking lot between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

in the lot behind businesses on North Milwaukee Avenue and the , police have issued 11 citations to drivers.

Each citation comes with a $25 minimum fine.

“In August, we wrote 11 citations to truck drivers disregarding the ordinance even after having been made aware of it,” said during the Sept. 20 Parking Commission meeting. “Those were all issued to people that had been previously warned or re-educated.”

The ordinance was approved after the village failed to gain cooperation by issuing letters or verbally asking truck drivers to avoid deliveries during noon, when the lot is typically filled with lunchtime pedestrian and car traffic.
