All Lanes Expected to Re-Open Soon on Routes 137, 21

The Illinois Department of Transportation anticipates all lanes of traffic will be open on Route 137 and Route 21 by Christmas—as long as there are no weather delays associated with the $23 million project, the Libertyville Review reports.

The Libertyville Review reported Monday IDOT was in the process of “pouring turn lanes.”

Meanwhile, the entrance to the dog park on Route 21 recently re-opened, according to information posted Monday on the  IL Rte 21 and 137 Project website. The website states the project is now 85 percent complete.

The road improvement project includes the reconstruction of 2.2 miles of Illinois 21, which will be widened to four lanes and is meant to alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
