Asphalt Work on Dymond Road Starts Aug. 5

Dymond Road is expected to be open to the public by Aug. 15, according to village engineer.

As part of the , workers are scheduled to place asphalt course from Crane Boulevard to Burridge Court on Aug. 5, according to a village construction update.

Village workers are expected to pour the first layer of the bituminous asphalt base course on Friday. Weather permitting the second layer of binder asphalt course will be placed on Monday.

“We are hoping to have the roads open to the public by next Friday,” said Frederick Chung, senior project engineer. “It’s especially important because of the traffic that will be expected when school starts.”

While the paving work is in progress, vehicles need to be moved off Dymond Road by 7 a.m. each workday. When parking on the adjacent streets, the village is asking residents to use one side of the street only, to minimize the congestion in the area.

Access to Gracewood Drive and Burridge Court always will be maintained from Park Avenue only. The area’s waste haulers, newspaper carriers and the post office are aware of the construction.
