Final landscaping for the area is expected to start two weeks after cables are buried.

Originally, ComEd was scheduled to meet with village officials June 22, but last week’s storm and subsequent power outage issues across Illinois caused ComEd to cancel the meeting, according to Weppler.

In lieu of a meeting, ComEd notified the village that it had investigated the situation and would start replacing cables.

One resident affected by power outages told Weppler that work is not being done in her neighborhood, “but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything,” he said.

“If these are the lines that are causing the outages and ComEd is working to fix that, then the problems could be resolved,” Weppler said. “We’re hoping it will.”
