Holiday Tree Lighting: A Village Tradition

People filled Cook Park on Friday for Libertyville's annual tree-lighting ceremony.

The unusually warm weather brought hundreds of people out Friday to witness the lighting of the holiday tree in downtown .

Singers from the Sports Complex Ensemble singing class led the crowd in singing "Here Comes Santa Claus," as the Jolly Old Elf came down Milwaukee riding atop a firetruck.

In addition to visiting with Santa, residents had the chance to tour the Cook Mansion, and enjoy cider, cookies, and hot chocolate from some of the downtown businesses.
