Lake County Considers Smoking Ban at Forest Preserve Playgrounds

The new rule will be voted on Tuesday, according to the Daily Herald.

Lake County Forest Preserve District commissioners will vote Tuesday on whether smoking should be allowed at the preserves' nine playgrounds — a rule that would take affect immediately if approved, according to the Daily Herald. 

The rule would not ban smoking at other forest district sites, according to the article. 

Some of the playgrounds that would be affected by the potential ban locally include:  Old School Forest Preserve near Libertyville and Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville, according to the Daily Herald.
