Lake Street Work to Start Week of Aug. 13

The work, including pavement patching and water main replacement, is slated to be complete by the end of October.

Work is expected to begin the week of Aug. 13 to rehabilitate and resurface Lake Street between Butterfield Road and Brainerd Avenue.

Rehabilitation work will include removal and replacement of selected sections of curb and gutter, extensive pavement patching, and water main replacement. These will be followed by a surface milling (grinding) operation and application of a crack control fabric prior to placement of the hot-mix asphalt binder and surface courses. We anticipate that all work, including pavement patching and restoration, should be completed by the end of October.

From Butterfield Road to Interlaken Lane, a new 8” water main will be installed. Portions of the new main will be installed by horizontal “directional drilling;” however, the intersections will be open cut for pipe installation. Included in the project are new fire hydrants. At each home within the water main construction project limits, we will be installing a new water service from the new main to the shut-off box. The new service will replace the section of the existing service between the shut-off and the old water main.
