Libertyville Road Rehab Project to Start in Early April

The $3.7 million project will include many roads throughout the village.

The latest round of road construction in Libertyville—the 2013 road rehabilitation project—is set to start in early April.

The Libertyville Village Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to award the bid for this year's road rehab project to A-Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. for just over $3.7 million. The project is part of the $20 million bond referendum approved in March 2012 to improve/rehabilitate pavements throughout the village.

The board also voted unanimously to appropriate $650,000 in Motor Fuel Tax funds to the project, meaning the total capital improvement funding portion of the project will be $3.05 million.

The full list of roads that will be included in the project can be found on the village website in the meeting agenda documents for the Feb. 12 meeting.

John Heinz, director of public works, said the road rehabilitation will start around April 1.

"Our initial information will go out (to residents) early next week, and then as the project progresses, we'll be providing updates for them," said Heinz.
