Libertyville Township Republicans Endorse Donahue

At a recent candidate endorsement session the Libertyville Township Republican Organization endorsed Dan Donahue for Lake County Board District 15 over incumbent county board member Carol Calabresa.

The 35 member organization of Republican precinct committeemen represent the interests of Republican voters in Libertyville Township in official Republican Party matters.

“Dan was by far the clear choice of the organization. He received 71 percent of the weighted vote and would have done better if two of his supporters were in town and able to cast their votes,” said Walt Oakley, a Donahue supporter and long time Libertyville Township Republican precinct committeeman.

“To be the overwhelming choice of the people who are the heart and soul of the local Republican organization is a tremendous boost to my favorability as a candidate; and, a reflection the Republican voters the committeemen represent arenʼt satisfied with their incumbent or the status quo in county government,” Donahue said.

Dan Donahue is a plan commissioner for the Village of Libertyville. The 15th District of the Lake County Board is comprised of the Village of Libertyville and the portion of the Village of Mundelein in LIbertyville Township.
