Lake County Campus Master Plan Focus of Meeting in Libertyville

Libertyville Mayor Terry Weppler is hosting a Town Hall meeting to discuss the proposed master plan for the Lake County Campus based on the public reaction to the proposed plans.

Lake County plans to develop the 172-acre Lake County government center west of Milwaukee Avenue and north of Winchester Road.

“It is important that all aspects of the plan be discussed to ensure that the public understands the proposal,” Mayor Weppler wrote in a press release. “The proposal currently being considered limits the uses allowed with future development and makes changes to existing development rights by increasing setbacks for buildings and parking, reducing height of buildings, reducing the floor area ratio, and introducing an optional development zone along Milwaukee Avenue.”

Rick Marder, a spokesman for Citizens United for Healthy Development in Libertyville, will be presenting his thoughts on the plan during the meeting Monday.

Village trustees are tentatively scheduled to take action on the plan at their Nov. 22 meeting.

The Town Hall meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at , 135 W. Church St., Libertyville.
