Trustees OK Spending $244K on Sewer Televising Project, Vehicle Purchases

Libertyville trustees voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve a variety of expenditures, including vehicle purchases and storm sewer televising.

Trustees agreed to award a storm sewer televising project contract to the lowest bidder, National Power Rodding Corporation, at just under $145,398. Village engineers initially estimated that this project would cost about $273,323.

"I'm glad our engineers were way off and that it was way off to our advantage," said Mayor Terry Weppler.

Trustees also agreed to spend $98,611 on four vehicles. Of that cost, $82,695 is for the purchase of three Ford Police Utility Interceptor vehicles. The low bidder was Morrow Brothers of Greenfield.

The remaining $15,916 is for the replacement of the village administrator's vehicle. A 2014 Ford Focus SE will be bought from the lowest bidder, Wright Automotive of Hillsboro.
