The construction company will replace sidewalks as part of the 2011 Sidewalk Replacement Program.

Some Libertyville sidewalks soon will get a face-lift as part of the 2011 Sidewalk replacement program.

Village trustees awarded Greg Greenhill Construction Co. Inc. a $35,000 contract to replace about 4,500 square feet of sidewalk, or about 225 sidewalk panels, during the Sept. 13 meeting.

“This year’s sidewalk replacement program will focus on areas east of Milwaukee Avenue, as well as the downtown TIF District,” said Marty Wittrock, assistant superintendent of streets and utilities.

No streets will be closed for the work, but there will be some temporary lane closures when the crews are removing the old panels or pouring new concrete, according to Wittrock.
