Village Hopes to Complete Parking Lot Before Libertyville Days
The west parking lot behind the rear of businesses on Milwaukee Avenue and the Village Hall still needs landscaping, other work.
Since October 2011, the parking lot behind Libertyville Libertyville Village Hall and west of Milwaukee Avenue has been open to the public, but some work still remains.
“We still need to put the final lift of asphalt down, which is about 1.5 to 2 inches, Dumpster enclosures, landscaping, sidewalk and lighting in the corner near Tommy’s Pizza and 545, laying concrete in that area and striping again,” said Public Works Director John Heinz.

Village workers are waiting for asphalt plants to reopen before resuming work on the parking lot.
“When the West Parking Lot is complete is weather-dependent,” Heinz said. “Ideally I’d like to have it done by Libertyville Days, so it’s not hampering the event.”
