The Mundelein branch of the Northwest Suburban Driving school was among the eight suburban locations to close abruptly last week.
A note on the Northwest Suburban Driving School website states that all driving lessons and classes have been cancelled and that the driving school is no longer in business.
The other locations that closed include: Schaumburg, Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Algonquin, McHenry, Mundelein and Vernon Hills, a representative from the Secretary of State's Commercial Driver Training Section in Elk Grove Village told Patch.com Wednesday afternoon
Several comments posted on the Northwest Suburban Driving School Facebook page reveal parents received no notice of the pending closure.
Some parents state they paid for the service, their children completed the instructional course, but have not received the certificate of completion needed to obtain their drivers license from the state. The Daily Herald reports that affected parents and students can call the Secretary of State's Commercial Driver Training Section at 847-981-7455 to file a claim if they paid the full $400 cost of the driving course and are seeking reimbursement for an unused portion of the course.
