Bus Circle Project at Adler Park School Stalls

Libertyville's Village Board rescinded an easement agreement with Libertyville Elementary School District 70 for a school bus turnaround at Adler Park School.

’s plan to build a bus turnaround behind  has hit a slight bump.

Village trustees rescinded because the agreement would encroach on a portion of an exclusive easement that the village had granted to the forest preserve for bike path purposes about 20 years ago, according to village documents.

“Village staff will, however, work with and the forest preserve to resolve any issues in order to assist District 70 in the relocation of the easement,” Libertyville Public Works Director John Heinz wrote in a letter to District 70.

officials previously said they hope the bus turnaround would help ease congestion and alleviate further problems due to , which prohibits buses from making a left turn out of the school parking lot.
