Wildcat Cheerleaders Compete in NSC Tournament

In 2005 cheerleading became an official high school sport in the state of Illinois. Cheerleaders no longer had to cheer from the sidelines supporting other sports in pursuit of a trophy. Governed by the IHSA, the North Suburban Conference District held this year's tournament at Lake Zurich High School on Jan. 8. Varsity and JV squads from the Lake and Prairies conference vied for the honor of being the division's best squad.

The Varsity Cheerleading squad consists of Serg Ayala, Katie Bookie, Bailey Bast, Carly Bradley, John Burke III, Julianna Cervino, Danielle Chon-Briggs, Sam Chon-Briggs, Melissa Collins, Nicole Faber, Syndey Hahn, Megan Hiscox, Westin Lewis, Haley Majewski, Jula Marks, Taylor Matheson, Sloane Matthews, Becky Mueller, Nicole Pink, Camille Roubik, Bailey Ryan, Olivia Simmons, Miles Webb, Lindsay Williams, Christian Womack, and Molly Yrigoyen.

The Junior Varsity squad consists of Gabby Bako, Vanessa Beck, Olivia Blaha, Tess Boretti, Zachery Deutsch, Natalie Kenley, Morgan Knollenberg, Alex Lanty, Theresa Manfredini, Paige McCarthy, Rebecca McCarthy, Carolyn McMahon, Megan Michelsen, Tori Salzwedel, Haley Schueler, Sarah Blythe, Grace Burnett, Kennedy Chester, Sarah Key, Hailey Laska, Megan Lee, Claire Majewski, Elizabeth McClurg, Mary O'Leary, Jenny Pahng, Kayla Ross, and Rylann Williams.
