CLC Celebrates International Education Week 2013

To recognize the value and benefits of international education and study exchanges, the College of Lake County joins educational institutions worldwide in celebrating the 14th annual International Education Week, Nov. 18-22.

Activities include a study abroad fair and judging of photos submitted for international photo competition, an international street fair featuring over 25 countries, an international panel luncheon and information sessions on CLC study abroad programs to the Italy, Costa Rica, Japan and China.

All events are free and open to the public and will be held at the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Monday, Nov. 18:  Study abroad fair and international photo competition judging, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., A Court. Information Session: Italy/Sicily Study Abroad Program, 2-3 p.m., Room D104.

Tuesday, Nov. 19: Information Session: Funding Your Study Abroad Experience, A261, 12-12:30 pm. Information Session: Japan Study Abroad Program, 2-3 p.m., Room C130.

Wednesday, Nov. 20: International street fair featuring informational displays on over 20 countries presented by CLC international and returning study abroad students, plus international cuisine and raffle prizes, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., B Court.

Thursday, Nov. 21: Lessons from Abroad: International Panel Luncheon featuring three CLC faculty and two students who will share their experiences abroad and the impact their travels had upon them. Information about future opportunities for international travel will be provided. Free lunch for the first 50 persons to sign up. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week is part of efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States. International Education Week is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide.
