District 128 Approves $84.5 Million Tentative Budget

Tax revenue the district will collect over the next year is expected to be down 2.4 percent over last fiscal year, reports the Daily Herald.

The board of education for Community High School District 128, which operates schools in Libertyville and Vernon Hills, approved a tentative budget for fiscal year 2014 that reflects an increase of about 3.4 percent, reported the Daily Herald.

The $84.5 million tentative budget, approved at Monday's board meeting, includes contractual increases in salaries and benefits along with a $500,000 increase in construction costs, according to the story.

A public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 12 at LHS, with final approval on the board's Aug. 26 agenda.
