Schools Closed for Second Day Due to Weather

Students are slated to return Jan. 8.

UPDATE, 1:57 p.m.: St. Joseph School has been added to the list of schools that will be closed Jan. 7 due to the weather, according to the school's Facebook page.

UPDATE, 12:52 p.m.: 
Libertyville District 70 officials announced that classes have been canceled for Jan. 7.

Officials shared this message on the district website: "As Mother Nature continues to give us the cold shoulder with severe winter temperatures, ALL SCHOOLS will remain CLOSED on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. School closings include Adler Park, Butterfield, Copeland Manor, Highland Middle and Rockland schools, along with the ERC. 

Champions, the before and after school program, also will be closed and there will be NO after school activities tomorrow. 

We will continue to monitor weather conditions as we make the safety of our students and staff a priority.

Thank you and keep warm."

 Classes have been canceled at Libertyville and Vernon Hills High Schools for Tuesday.

Community High School District 128 shared this message on Facebook: "Due to the continued subzero temperatures and dangerous wind chills forecast for tomorrow, there will be no school at Libertyville High School and Vernon Hills High School on Tues., Jan. 7. All school and district offices will be closed, and all athletics and school activities will be canceled. Please remember that Wednesday, Jan. 8, is a late start day."
