Libertyville Elementary District 70 Schools are holding a collection drive to help the victims of the tornado that ripped through Moore, OK, on May 20.

The devastating EF-5 tornado killed 24 people, including nine children, according to the Huffington Post. Another 200 people were injured by the tornado, which was estimated to be about 2 miles wide.

The tornado hit two elementary schools, according to News9 in Oklahoma City.

Collection cans will be set out in the office of each District 70 school, and money collected may be earmarked by the Character Counts Committee for the American Red Cross in Oklahoma City. The fundraiser has been dubbed, "Monies for Moore - The Moore We Can Offer, The Better!"

"The devastation and impact on Oklahoma and the Plaza Towers Elementary School hit hard and is painful to comprehend," said Supt. Guy Schumacher. "Anything we can gather in these short days before school is out will be beneficial, I am certain."
