District 70 OKs Sharing Services with Oak Grove

Oak Grove District 68 will share the services of Dr. Kurt Valentin, District 70's current assistant superintendent of finance and operations.

The Libertyville School District 70 Board of Education unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement with Oak Grove School District 68 to share the services of Dr. Kurt Valentin, District 70’s assistant superintendent of finance and operations.

After the resignation of its business manager, Oak Grove approached Libertyville with hopes of creating a contract between the districts, in which District 68 would pay District 70 a fee for financial management. The board agreed to pursue a contract at a special meeting in early June.

“I think it’s a great collaborative opportunity,” District 70 Superintendent Guy Schumacher said after the June 27 meeting. “These are two very great districts that are very committed to students, families and our communities, and this is an opportunity for us to work together.”
