Free Workshop for Gardeners

The Lake County Health Department / Community Health Center is offering this free workshop to teach gardeners how to make good plant choices, avoid invasive plants and what to do if invasive plants are found. Many invasive plants are beautiful in appearance by invasive enough to take over and devastate entire wetlands and other areas. Some invasive plants even alter the soil chemistry.

Information in the workshop will be provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Lake County Forest Preserve District and the Northeastern Illinois Invasive Plant Partnership along with the Health Department's Population Health Services Area that specializes on the environment.
